DNA TESTING SCAMS ON THE RISE IN LOW INCOME COMMUNITIES

In a recent report by Bloomberg, state authorities are warning of an alleged scam that involves DNA tests that are targeted to low-income and senior-living communities.

How it works: The alleged scammer visit these communities and offer to perform DNA tests. They then collect this information from people in government sponsored programs such as Medicare and Medicaid that can then be used to bill the government for unneeded medical care or worse yet, identity theft.
