SECOND FLU WAVE APPROACHES RECORD-BREAKING YEAR

This year’s flu season has crossed the 21-week span according to reporting by the CDC making it one of the longest running stretches for the flu in over two decades.

Behind the numbers: The CDC estimates that between 35,000 and 55,000 deaths related to the flu have occured this year. Despite this year’s staggering numbers, last year was still the deadliest on record in the last 40 years with over 80,000 Americans dying from the flu.
