One of the more important questions regarding the proposed “Medicare for All” program is how would hospitals fare. As it stands, if Medicare for All pays higher rates than Medicare, the price tag for the program will skyrocket. The impact to hospitals could be catastrophic. Some hospitals, especially those in struggling areas would have to layoff workers which puts additional stress on already shortened staff and worse some may be forced to close. How everything is going to play out is still to be determined. But we’re sure the debate will rage on in Washington.
